What is The Salvation Army? The Salvation Army is at work in 115 countries, in all five continents. As a church and charity organisation The Salvation Army demonstrates its Christian principles through social welfare provision. Worldwide there are over 1.6 million members, numerous social institutions as well as nearly 16'000 church and community centres. The work of The Salvation Army is funded through donations from its members, the general public and government grants.
