High-ranking visitor from London: General Linda Bond, the international Salvation Army leader, will spend March 22 to 24 visiting Berne, Payerne and Zurich in Switzerland.
The Salvation Army has 1.7 million members worldwide (about 4150 of whom in Switzerland) in 126 countries. Its international headquarters are in London. Linda Bond from Canada has been the international Salvation Army leader since 2011. During her stay in Switzerland, she will take position on actual matters and in particular on her vision: “One Army, one Mission, one Message”.
On Friday March 22 at 7 pm, Linda Bond will address the congregation during worship open to all in Berne Cathedral. Afterwards she will hold a public speech at the Salvation Army museum in the course of the Museum Night event (in the court of Laupenstrasse 5, Berne, 9.30 pm).

In French-speaking Switzerland
At 11 in the morning on Saturday March 23, General Bond will address the congregation during public worship in Payerne. At 3.30 pm, she will take part in the Divisional Congress, and at 7.30 pm in a French-Swiss Salvation Army youth meeting. All events will be held in the Payerne Halle des Fêtes, Avenue du Stade. This Congress will also be embellished by the Swiss Salvation Army’s European Song Contest band “Takasa”.

General Linda Bond can also be experienced live on Sunday March 24. At 10 am, she will preach during public worship at the Salvation Army Zurich community centre, Ankerstrasse 31. As of 12 noon, a reception for church, politics and media representatives will be held at the Salvation Army Zurich’s nearby hostel for men and women, Molkenstrasse 6. General Bond will tour the hostel with the invited guests, and respond briefly to questions posed by the media.
